P4Y – Step 57 – April 17th

Posted on 19 Aprile 202619 Aprile 2026 By Francesco

On April 17th, 2025, I left Italy for Louisiana, determined to build a new life on the other side of the ocean. I thought that leap was already big enough: leaving my country, my habits, my rhythms. But life has its own sense of humor, and it often chooses to remind us of that just when we start feeling stable.

On April 17th, 2026, exactly one year later, I packed my bags again and set off once more—destination Texas, Dallas. Another leap, even bigger. From a small town of a few tens of thousands of people to a metropolis of millions. From a place you could cross with a short walk to a city where even the highway interchanges—as my brother loves to remind me, sending me topographic photos just to tease me—are about the size of my hometown.

When I thought I could finally start putting down some roots, life pushed me back into motion. And today, walking into a completely empty, bare house, I was reminded of that photo I took a year ago: sitting on the floor, back against the wall, looking at the naked walls that were supposed to become “home.” There’s something strangely familiar about finding myself like that again: the same silence, the same floor, the same breath suspended between what you leave behind and what you don’t know yet.

It will be another challenge. Bigger? Harder? More everything? I don’t know. But I know it will be stimulating, and for now I want to take it that way: as another chance to grow, reinvent myself, breathe new air. And who knows… maybe I should go ahead and book the movers for next April 17th already, sigh.

Just saying.

P4Y – Step 57 – 17 aprile

Cosi. Per dire.

My name is Francesco Boschi, originally from Italy and currently based in the United States. For over twenty years, I’ve worked as a manager and consultant across diverse sectors — from education and cultural institutions to the food industry — developing skills in operational management, strategic consulting, and complex problem-solving. In recent years, I’ve combined this experience with a strong passion for software development, creating custom tools designed to simplify workflows and meet real business needs.

Relocating to the U.S. marks the beginning of a new chapter: a personal and professional decision driven by the desire to be close to my son and to embrace new challenges in a different environment. Today, my goal is to turn my experience into meaningful solutions, blending strategic vision with technical expertise to help people and organizations work more effectively.

I enjoy moving between different worlds, adapting tools and approaches to people and contexts. I bring leadership, flexibility, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a strong problem-solving mindset — along with a deep curiosity to learn and grow. Above all, I believe in sharing: I’m always eager to offer my experience to support the growth of others.

There are moments in life when everything shifts without warning. You find yourself in a new place — physical, mental, cultural — and suddenly the rules that once defined you no longer apply.I’m not just talking about a different language or unfamiliar habits.I’m talking about that subtle, persistent feeling that follows…
