P4Y – Step 61 – The Crack in the Wall

Posted on 26 Luglio 202626 Luglio 2026 By Francesco

Day after day, experience after experience, I begin to think that the world is not made of separate things, but of one great fabric, invisible and interconnected.

We believe we are distant islands.

Me with my secret thoughts. You with your unspoken fears. Others with their lives that seem to have nothing to do with ours.

We build thick walls around what torments us. We raise them slowly, almost without noticing, convinced that no one can see beyond them.

We smile when inside we suffer. We speak when we would rather remain silent. We keep walking when, in reality, we would only need to stop.

Sometimes we dream, while inside us there is only darkness.

And yet there must be days when the tension of what we carry in our soul becomes too strong. Days when the weight can no longer remain hidden and something, in the wall we have built, begins to give way.

Everything doesn’t collapse.

Only a crack opens.

A thin fissure, almost invisible, through which light, energy, pain, memory, fear begin to escape. Perhaps even a scent that someone, somewhere, is able to recognize.

And that is when it happens.

In any point on earth, in any building, in a place the world seems to have forgotten, there exists a person you have never seen.

They may be on a distant street, in an empty room, in a small shop hidden in the middle of nowhere. One of those places you would never have entered, if life hadn’t led you there.

An apparently insignificant place.

And yet, right there, someone is present.

An ordinary man, from a distant land, with a life of sacrifices behind him. A man with a big smile and a crimson shirt, one of those men who, just by looking at them, make you think they know the weight of life.

You know nothing about him.

He knows nothing about you.

You ask him a simple question, a question related to his work. You expect a normal, practical, predictable answer.

But he does not respond to what you asked.

He looks at you.

For an instant he seems to pass through the crack that has opened in your wall. He doesn’t see only your face. He doesn’t hear only your voice.

He sees the cage.

The one you built around your fears. The one in which you have lived for a long time, perhaps without being able to distinguish the bars anymore.

And then he begins to speak.

He pronounces sentences he should not know.

Your sentences.

Only yours.

The same ones that echo in your mind during the night. The same questions that accompany you in silence. The same thoughts you have told no one, perhaps not even fully to yourself.

They are surgical words.

Ruthlessly exact.

They have no logical explanation. They do not come from familiarity, from an explanation, or from a long conversation. They arrive suddenly, as if that person had entered for a few seconds into a secret room of your soul.

And you remain still.

How is it possible?

How can a stranger know those things?

How can he know the exact shape of a pain you have never shown?

Where do these encounters come from?

Where do the people who look you in the eyes and tell you the impossible come from?

When someone who does not know your past says something that resonates down to your core, the explanations of the rational mind suddenly become too narrow.

One could say he observed a gesture.

That he sensed something from your way of speaking, of looking, or of moving.

One could speak of experience, sensitivity, the ability to understand others.

But sometimes that is not enough.

There are words that are too precise.

There are moments that are too perfect.

There are coincidences that seem to possess a will.

I have reflected on this for a long time.

Perhaps, when a doubt or a pain becomes too big to be contained, it stops being just a thought.

It becomes energy.

It leaves us without our noticing. It crosses the wall, passes through the crack, spreads into the world like a silent signal.

And someone, in a remote place, is able to receive it.

They are not guessing.

They are not reading your mind.

They are simply picking up something that we ourselves are transmitting.

Perhaps it is our soul that, desperate to be heard, seeks a voice different from our own.

A voice we cannot ignore.

An external voice, unknown, impossible to control.

Perhaps the soul uses, for an instant, the person standing before us. It borrows their eyes, their lips, and their voice to tell us what we can no longer tell ourselves.

But perhaps there is another possibility.

Perhaps it is not us sending that message.

Perhaps someone, or something, intervenes.

Some call it Providence. Some call it destiny. Some speak of angels, guardians, a collective mind, or an invisible presence that accompanies every human being along their path.

Presences without a body, but not for that incapable of acting.

Perhaps, for a single minute, they can borrow the voice of an ordinary person.

They do not need to appear. They do not need to show themselves. They do not need to perform visible miracles.

It is enough for them to lead two people to the same place, at the same moment.

One carries a question within. The other, without knowing it, carries the answer.

Perhaps the clocks of two different lives synchronize for a few seconds.

Two distant stories, which should never have met, suddenly touch.

For an instant they merge.

The universe stops being silent.

It answers.

Not with a voice from the sky, not with a spectacular sign, but through the words of another human being.

Perhaps this is the way the divine manages to reach us without frightening us.

It does not appear before us. It does not break the laws of the world.

It hides in the everyday.

In a casual encounter. In a misplaced sentence. In a stranger who smiles. In a crimson shirt. In a place where we would never have thought to find anything.

Perhaps God does not always speak with His own voice.

Perhaps, sometimes, He uses the voice of others.

Only a few hours have passed since that moment, and I keep seeing that man.

His face. His smile. His crimson shirt.

I keep wondering who he really was.

Perhaps he was just a man. Perhaps he was a man who had suffered enough to recognize suffering in others. Perhaps he was an unconscious messenger.

Or perhaps, for an instant, something greater than him looked through his eyes and spoke through his voice.

I do not know what the answer is.

Perhaps I will never know.

But now I know that what was given to me was not just advice.

It was a reminder.

A way to remind me that I am not alone.

That the deepest questions do not get lost in the void.

That even when the world seems distracted, distant, or silent, something continues to listen.

And when the weight becomes too great, when the wall begins to give way and our soul opens a crack, it may happen that the answer finds a path.

It can cross continents. It can enter a forgotten place. It can take the face of a stranger. It can wear a crimson shirt.

And it can reach us exactly at the moment when we need to know that someone, somewhere, is watching over our path.

Just saying. CJJ

E allora comincia a parlare.

Pronuncia frasi che non dovrebbe conoscere.

Frasi tue.

Soltanto tue.

Forse qualcuno, o qualcosa, interviene.

Continuo a domandarmi chi fosse davvero.

CJJ

My name is Francesco Boschi, originally from Italy and currently based in the United States. For over twenty years, I’ve worked as a manager and consultant across diverse sectors — from education and cultural institutions to the food industry — developing skills in operational management, strategic consulting, and complex problem-solving. In recent years, I’ve combined this experience with a strong passion for software development, creating custom tools designed to simplify workflows and meet real business needs.

Relocating to the U.S. marks the beginning of a new chapter: a personal and professional decision driven by the desire to be close to my son and to embrace new challenges in a different environment. Today, my goal is to turn my experience into meaningful solutions, blending strategic vision with technical expertise to help people and organizations work more effectively.

I enjoy moving between different worlds, adapting tools and approaches to people and contexts. I bring leadership, flexibility, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a strong problem-solving mindset — along with a deep curiosity to learn and grow. Above all, I believe in sharing: I’m always eager to offer my experience to support the growth of others.
