Yesterday I felt the need to write a poem, or maybe the lyrics to a song.
Today I find myself reflecting on something different.
Not the kind you declare with words, but the kind you carry inside even when you wish you could let it go—or pretend you want to. The kind that stays alive under your skin, even if you’re thousands of kilometers away.
Those who grew up where I grew up, who lived in a place “out of the ordinary, and often paradoxical,” know what this means.
When an Event happens—that Event—whether joyful or painful, your heart beats harder. Not as it once did, not with the pure enthusiasm of the past, but with something that still vibrates deep within.
And so, even while you’re building a new life elsewhere, you cannot remain indifferent. You feel sorrow, regret, even indignation. It’s a feeling that might seem irrational, uncomfortable even, because you could tell yourself: “This no longer concerns me.”
But the bond remains, because it’s not just about you: it’s about the people still there, who believe, who endure, who face those contradictions every single day.
Too often, truth gets hidden, diluted, watered down. Blame is shifted elsewhere, convenient stories are built, justification is chosen over responsibility.
And yet, reality is there, clear as day, and those who are honest, moral, cannot help but feel regret for what has happened.
Truth—even when uncomfortable—is the only solid ground on which something can be rebuilt. Everything else is just fog that postpones or conceals problems.
And yet, they always try. Someone refuses to settle for empty words and instead acts. They don’t always win—fortunately—but they put themselves out there.
And that, whether you watch from up close or from afar as I do, stings. Because yes, arriving first matters, but what also matters is the dignity of effort, the courage to try, the commitment.
And today, none of these were present.
On the contrary, when you see no one fighting, when you’re “out of the game,” when the dust gets swept under the rug, you feel out of place. Because deep inside you know that belonging is not a label, but a moral duty toward what you are—and what you once were.
I’ve always thought that they were better than us at making a team, at looking in the same direction—especially when their goal was to humiliate us.
And today, I had proof once again.
But this awareness, if it remains only my private thought, serves little purpose.
So I am left with the hope that one day someone will truly open their eyes, stop chasing illusions and empty promises, and choose to face the truth for what it is.
Time passes. Emotions change, memories fade.
Dignity, however, remains.
It cannot be bought, traded, or erased with clever speeches.
If years ago things went a certain way, and today they still happen in the same way, it means the problem is not just the people who come and go, but the mentality with which reality is managed.
And when this happens, there are only two paths:
either you pretend, or you truly change.
Not with a new façade, not with shiny slogans, but with facts. With the strength to say: “We were wrong. I’ll step aside.
All I can do is watch from afar and speak to my own heart.
But despite the distance, disappointments, and silences, there remains that belonging that does not die.
It is an invisible thread, binding who I am.
So I tell myself: yes, maybe I won’t be there anymore, I won’t take part directly. But dignity knows no boundaries.
It’s a moral inheritance that goes beyond time, places, and people.
Am I wrong? Perhaps.
To the heirs, the hard judgment.
I remain here, with a heart that still beats strongly for us, even if that us feels a little further away now.
Just to say. CJJ

Eppure “Loro” ci provano sempre.
Sbaglio? Può essere.
Agli eredi, l’ardua sentenza.
Cosi. Per dire. CJJ
